- PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Begins
The satellites are over and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is officially underway, with the $10,000 main event taking place on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
The night before the event, however, is the night everyone is currently talking about, because Monday, January 4, is the night of the always exciting private party PokerStars holds for its pros, main event entrants, and PokerStars satellite winners. That's set to get going on Paradise Island at the Royal Tower of the Atlantis Resort, starting at 7:00 pm and set to run until 9:00 pm.
One of the expected highlights of the 2010 PCA is the confirmed presence of Kelly Rowland, who made quite a splash at last year's PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).
Another invitation-only PCA party hosted by PokerStars will take place on January 9 at Paradise Harbour and will feature entertainment from Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child.
Hip-Hop and R&B seem to be a running theme with PokerStars, as the last time they hosted a big party, this one at the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the musical entertainment was provided by Nelly. He appears to be quite the poker player, participating in many events in the 2009 WSOP. He also played in the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final. Now rumor has it that Nelly might make an appearance at the 2010 PCA.
Another highlight of the 2010 PCA is the amfAR Charity Poker Tournament with a $5,250 buy-in and confirmed celebrity entrants including Team PokerStars Sports pros Mats Sundin, Sebastian Chabal, and Boris Becker.
